To begin this review we must say that the stock intake system on the Focus RS is probably one of the most free flowing intake systems we have seen. It has a direct pipe to the turbo with an open air paper cone filter on the end.

It's pretty fancy for a stock piece. But everything changes when you swap it out for an aftermarket piece.

The first thing you will notice when you start the engine is the massive increase in the whooshing noise of air being sucked into the motor. That subsides as the rpms decrease and the motor begins to run at operating temperature. The most excitement comes from the fact that the stock blow off valve becomes instantly noticeable when begin driving around and by noticeable I mean it sounds like you have an aftermarket blow off valve installed on the RS. It's not obnoxious in any way and it's definitely not as loud as a traditional aftermarket blow off valve, but its definitely very noticeable with the windows up or down. Pedestrians will definitely hear it and wonder what other mods are under the hood.

Driving it around definitely has become more fun and interesting. Injen claims gains of 17 HP and 20 ft-lb of torque. We are not sure if that is the exact amount that we received but it definitely pulls harder down below and up top and the sound alone is worth the $284.95. Over all we are very pleased with this intake and would very much recommend this to any RS owner.

Installation was a breeze and took about 30 minutes to install. The only minor thing is you need a 3/4th drill bit to expand the hole on one of the ground wire terminals. Other then that— it's easy peasy. Craftsmanship and material quality is on point. You can expect the same great quality from Injen as all of their other past products. You can get the piping in Black, Red, Blue, or Silver.
